On fall. Now that its almost over. I was driving back home this afternoon, down the interstate and noticed the leaves. Finally changing to all the pretty colors. Its snowing already where my sister lives and we are just now getting colors.
I think that may be part of the issue with me this year. It sucks that our fall is so lame. It sucks that it never snows. It makes it really hard to enjoy the seasons for me. It just supposed to go along with the excitement and the build up.
Last year we got lucky. The leaves changed and were gorgeous. It was cold by Thanksgiving and we had a couple of good snows.
I am not holding out hope for this year. Its still in the 70s the weekend before Thanksgiving and the trees are pretty much doing the same old get brown and drop off thing they usually do.
Its messing with my mojo, yo.
Maybe this week will help. I am going to spend as much time as possible outside and trying to enjoy the last of the warm weather for the year. Well, hopefully the last of the warm weather. Surely it will cool off soon and I will be bothering you all whining about the miserable cold and snow.
A girl can dream can't she?
I get in a funk if I don't get outside enough - especially during the fall and spring. It is weird, but it really helps my mood.
ReplyDeleteHope you are able to get out and enjoy the outdoors!
Well, it's supposed to be 13 degrees where I'm from tomorrow...I will gladly trade you!!!
ReplyDeleteI feel ya. Living in Vegas makes it hard to get excited about the holidays since we have no seasons. Just hot and windy, and then cold and windy. Nothing in between and we don't have trees with leaves that change. Lame.
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize how much I cared about the change of seasons until I spent fall in tropical northern Australia one year. I was ecstatic to come home to the cold, dreary weather I had tried so hard to escape :)
ReplyDeleteErin~ Exactly. I need the outdoors.
ReplyDeleteMelissa~ Ok, now that is just insane. 13 is too cold. Although, I just came in from 75 degree weather so it sounds like heaven right now.
Nicole~ Yeah, it was the same way when we were in Texas. People just made up for it by going way overboard on the decorations. People here don't decorate hardly at all. Sad.
Jennie~ How funny! I would probably have been the same way. Get me outta there!
Ha ha. Well for 15 years I lived in a season less climate in Phoenix Arizona is what HOT, super hot, then just warm in the winter time...never really cold. Now I live in the four seasons and it was snowing early this morning. Some of it stuck, much of it has melted this afternoon. I think having the four seasons makes the year go by faster....that can be both good or bad. I suppose its how you look at it. My toes are frozen and I'm not too happy about that one.

That would make it tough to get in the spirit! Our fall came later this year but it's here now and I am finally in the mood. With temps continuing to drop I'm starting to get excited for Christmas. Hope it cools off for you too (as least after to you get to enjoy the warm outdoors a little more).
